Glenn Harvey makes narrative-driven images with symbolic twists and turns embedded within them.
I’m an illustrator from Toronto and recent graduate of the illustration program at Sheridan College. I’m focusing on images that are hand-drawn with pencil, and rely on linework and hatching to express whatever I’m trying to get through in the piece. Thematically, I’m influenced by so many genres and different things that it can be hard to describe sometimes. I’m a fan of story-telling most of all, so as long as it’s got a good story - it doesn’t really matter what genre it is, then I’m into it. The same can go with the content of my art, as long as there’s a story there for me to get into, the content of it can be almost anything at all. As an undertone, violence and conflict are things I’m interested in exploring. though not in a gratuitous way. I’m working on revamping my portfolio in the moment to hopefully reflect more of my personal world, instead of the editorial one I’m trying to make my bones in - so stayed tuned.
